REQUIRED SUPPLIES

Please purchase extra necessary supplies here for when your care package samples run out. You will need to order these ahead of time. Links to suggested retailers provided in red. You can also purchase these supplies from us at pickup - make sure to reserve your supplies beforehand (our prices in parentheses).

  • Milk Replacer: Gerber Good Start GentlePro ($60 for large 32 oz container).

  • Bottle-feeding supplies: Original Miracle Nipple ($5) and Miracle O-ring Syringe, Luer Lock Tip, sizes 1cc to 10cc (price varies).

  • Marmoset Gel Diet: Mazuri Callitrichid Gel Diet, High Vitamin D. ($50 per 1kg package)

  • Marmoset Biscuits: Mazuri New World Primate Biscuit - optional, for snacking on. ($60 per 25# bag)

  • Diapers (optional): Small Beginnings Beary Small Bili Buns, 22C. ($20 per pack of 30)

  • Cage: A parakeet cage or single level Critter Nation cage to start. Do not offer too large of a cage until your baby is bigger and more mobile.

  • Heat Source: Heat lamp, ceramic heat emitter, incubator, or heating pad.

    • Warning about heating pads: Your baby needs to be on the pad in order to feel the warmth. If they like to hold onto a stuffed animal, a heating pad would not suffice; an ambient heat source would then be required.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Milk Replacer: Add 1 scoop Gerber Good Start GentlePro formula to 2 oz warm water. Shake to mix.

  • Feeding Times: 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm, 12am, 4am (unless otherwise specified).

  • Feed Slow! Take your time feeding. Your baby is tiny and needs to eat very slowly. Pushing on the syringe plunger too quickly will cause your baby to aspirate. Aspiration pneumonia can kill babies.

  • Stimulating to Potty: Rub a soft, damp tissue on the monkey’s genitals after every feeding to stimulate them to urinate and defecate.

  • Keeping Warm: Make sure your new baby is kept very warm (85 degrees or above). We suggest an ambient heat source like heat lamp or ceramic heat emitter. The temperature can be gradually dropped as they mature to full size.
