BUDDY PUNCH INFO

what to use it for

  • Punching in and out for work.

  • Punching in and out of your lunch break.

  • Viewing your schedule.

  • Viewing your timecards (hours worked).

  • Submitting requests for days off.

How to set up

  • You should receive an email from Buddy Punch with instructions for downloading the app and setting up your account.

  • Familiarize yourself with the app by exploring all the tabs and features.

PUnching in and out

  • NOTICE - Buddy Punch is not, nor has ever been, the official timecard of record for Dragonstone Ranch. a. This system is used to keep track of shifts outside of regular work hours, to notify us who is on the property, and as a tool for payroll. For example, shifts worked for the employee housing benefit and other similar situations which are not reflected in an employee's salary.

  • Adjustments are also made to Buddy Punch entries at the employee's request when mistakes are made on their side such as forgetting to clock in/out of their shift.

  • If an employee does not take a break and a note is not entered for us in Buddy Punch, we will manually adjust the timecard by 60 minutes.

  • Staff hours are manually taken out of the Buddy Punch final hours in the above-listed situations, if you have any questions or concerns about your final hours please reach out to the Admin Team.

  • Clock in only when arriving at your workstation, ready to work. You may not clock in while driving through the front gate, while you are still in your car, etc.

  • Clock out as soon as you stop working at the end of your shift. You may not wait until you are in your car to clock out.

  • You must clock out for your lunch break under the same rules listed above. This should be entered in Buddy Punch as “Break”.

  • PTO (Paid Time Off) – employees with any PTO must use this time within the calendar year,  you cannot roll time over into the next year.  Use it or lose it.  This time can be used for vacation, sick time, doctor appointments, etc. You must enter the PTO request in Buddy Punch AFTER you discussed it with your manager and/or Mimi./Monty.

  • UTO (Unpaid Time Off) – all employees can use UTO as needed AFTER approval by your manager and/or Mimi/Monty.  This time can be used for vacation, sick time, doctor appointments, etc. You must enter the UTO request in Buddy Punch AFTER you discussed it with your manager and/or Mimi.

  • If you accidentally punched in too late, or forgot to back in after your break, etc., add a note to the time entry stating when the correct time should be. Alternatively, you can email Lynsey at lynsey@dragonstoneranch.com or text her at (614) 668-2449, and she will manually update it.

Requesting time off

  • We require 2 weeks’ notice for 1-2 days off.

  • We require 4 weeks’ notice for holidays, more than 2 consecutive days off, or more than 2 days off in a given week.

  • Use the Time Off tab of the app to submit a request. List the hours off you need (8 hours for a full day, or any other number of hours for partial days off). The Notes field is required. Make sure to include in the notes the reason for the request. For partial days off, make sure to include the time that you will be able to work. For example, if you have a doctor's appointment in the morning and can come to work after lunch, write “Doctor appt, working 1-5 pm.”

  • Once your request for time off is approved, one of the managers will write it on the Critter Room calendar. We generally do not allow more than one person to request off on the same day, so make sure to look at the calendar to make sure no other requests were approved before submitting your request. Exceptions can be made for emergencies or other situations on a case-by-case basis.

Pay periods

  • Check dates are 3 business days after the 15th and the last day of each month.
